Kayi the toothless

Kayi the toothless was a beaked dragon that loved nothing more than a good early morning sunbathing. Very sensitive to sound, locals knew it wise to talk in low tones. You couldn’t hear a single bird chirping. Roosters had to keep it to themselves their calls for a new day.
Children who were brave enough to approach Kayi talked of being able to see through its membranous skin.
It was last seen in the area around the time the railway came through the plains, perhaps the noise levels pushed it further inland, giving up its long-beloved rock; kit mikayi.
